What is that smell???? Oh, your underarm? My goodness…let’s fix that shall we with some odor removing underarm scrub for armpit detox!
Body odor happens! Sometimes it stems from excessive perspiration or a particular food you eat. Other times it has a root cause in your gut health and overall wellness. Whatever the underlying cause, at some point in your life, your armpits will stink.
Using a good natural deodorant (like the one I make) is the first step in eliminating armpit odor. Using commercial products laden with chemicals actually causes you to sweat and stink more than if you used nothing. But I digress…
Today, I am tackling the topic of getting those stinky armpits CLEAN! So let’s get right into the wonder that is my homemade armpit destinker (aka – honey lemon or lime underarm scrub for armpit detox).
The star of this underarm scrub for armpit detox is coconut oil.
This should come as no surprise seeing there are a good 333 uses for coconut oil. You see, when it comes to stripping your body of unpleasant odors, coconut oil is known to be MUCH more effective than standard soap. Add the power of a scrubbing agent and you have a sure fire stink buster that also exfoliates armpits! Here is how the ingredients in my super-secret recipe work.
Coconut oil is a lot of things! But in terms of getting rid of odor, it is the anti-microbial and anti-bacterial properties that it possesses that help keep odors away! Since body odor typically feeds on bacteria, cleansing with coconut oil will cut off the food supply so to speak!
The mixture of sugar and salt offer a gentle cleansing mechanism without the sting of pure salt scrubs! Plus dead sea salt has AMAZING skin benefits.
The lemon or lime (or combo of the two) work well to strip the armpit odor away from the skin without actually stripping the natural oils away and drying out the skin. Please note that I advocate for using fresh juice and not essential oils. They work differently and the fresh juice is more effective in my experience.
The honey is super soothing and is also antibacterial, giving you a double whammy of a boost!
So what are you waiting for? Get into the kitchen and get cooking! This odor removing underarm scrub for armpit detox will blow you away.

Travis Barnes says
Jennifer,
This pitt scrub worked like a champ! I had no idea that my pitts didn’t need to stink the way that they had been stinking: I thought that was just my natural lot-in-life. Now, when I wake-up in the morning, come home from class, return from a 3 mile walk, my pitts smell fine. I think the last time they smelled this innocuous was when I was a child.
I am making the deodorant tomorrow, and I’ll let you know how that goes
Thank you.

Hi,
Does it have to be dead sea salt? Can I use other salt instead?
Jennifer says
You can use other salt. Table salt won’t work and Epson salt is a little abrasive. But other kinds are fine!
Tiffany Yap says

Mariella says
how long do you keep this mask
Jennifer says
If you use it a couple of times a week you will use it up before it “goes bad.” However, you want to try to use it within 4-6 weeks.
Sierra says
Can I use liquid coconut oil or do I have to use melted solid cooconut oil?
Vera says
Do I rinse the scrub off once I use it? I have everything ready to go just not sure if I’m suppose to leave it on or rinse it off.
Carmen says
How long do you leave on before rinsing out? Do you rinse or leave on as a deodorant?
