Mold illness is an emerging area and not all patients may benefit from the same treatments. With so many medical practitioners claiming to know how to treat mold patients, it is hard to know who to choose.
I have personally been under the care of 4 different mold doctors at various times. They all took me to various stages of healing. Currently, I am my own mold doctor. I have taken all of the pieces of the puzzle my practitioners have provided me with and figured out what really works well for me. In an effort to help as many victims of mold exposure as possible, I have compiled a list of medical practitioners who understand mold illness and offer treatment options for it. These are organized by state.
The mold doctors listed here use a wide range of treatment modalities, many of which may not be appropriate for all situations. The information on this page is provided only to give patients a starting point with regard to doing their own due diligence in terms of learning about and interviewing practitioners that might be appropriate for their situations.

I called and spoke to intake. Sponaugle Wellness in FL does not take insurance (as the majority do not!) The cost for treatment (5 days a week for a few weeks depending on how sick you are) Are you sitting down? $40,000 to $50,000!
I feel they take advantage of sickened patients who are desperate to find their way back to health.

My son and granddaughter are suffering affects of toxic mold in the apartment that they lived in for 3 years. The mold has been verified as Stachybotrys and a few others by a mold inspection. They are on ACHSS Mercy Care insurance, because he has been unable to work and get good insurance. They live in Ahwatukee, Arizona, which is south Phoenix. We have not been able to find a doctor to treat them. They moved out of the apartment a month ago, and are doing somewhat better, but I understand that they need to detox and a naturopathic environmental doctor that knows about toxic mold is what they need. I saw a few on this list, but they do not take Mercy Care.
Any suggestions?

Hi Marilyn! There are no mold doctors in this area that take Mercy Care. 🙁 Trust me – I’ve lived here for 4 years and keep trying to find someone who takes Mercy Care. Their best bet is to request Dr. Jaclyn Bain at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine. It is in Tempe off Broadway – a pretty easy drive from Ahwatukee. https://patients.scnm.edu/personnel/physicians/jaclyn-bain-nd/. Have your son call them and ask to apply for their low income sliding scale program. It is a significant discount. They can order lab work and other testing through a lab that Mercy Care Plan does cover. So the out of pocket expense is a bit reduced. If I do come across a local doctor that takes any of the ACHSS plans I will let you know!
