Grunt! Groan! Growl! Push! Squeeze! Pinch!
Sound familiar? Is this your typical bathroom experience when it comes to dropping the kids off at the pool?
I sure hope not. Sadly though, I suspect that a lot of you reading this are indeed making these noises and working awfully hard just to product one little nugget of poopy goodness.
I know how it goes. Been there, done all that. I cringe when I think how I used to believe that this was all normal. Par for the pooping course if you will.

Did you know that the proper way to poop is actually an incredibly pleasant, energizing pooping experience?
Pooping isn’t strenuous, something to be feared. It is something to look forward to. An experience that takes less than two minutes and leaves you feeling uplifted!
How often does that perfect poop happen for you? Would you like it to happen more?
There are a lot of reasons you have less than stellar bowel habits. In fact, I’ve broached this subject in several posts. If you feel inclined (perhaps while spending a bit too much time on the throne), you might want to check out Everyone Poops. There are lot of great pooping related posts there.
Geeze – looking at this list of past posts makes it seem like I kind of like writing about poop. Huh. Actually I do! But all in the name of bowel health. Plus writing about poop is pretty fun. Why not take a typically sensitive topic and make it enjoyable to learn more about?! Plus we are all friends here so why not talk shop about our daily pooping happenings or backups as the case may be.
Back to that three step pooping program I mentioned.
I’m not going to go into health issues, food consumption, and the like in this post. You can get the scoop on all that and how it plays a role in your elimination habits from the posts linked above. Today, I want to focus on your pooping experience and how to make it pretty darn incredible.
Before we go down that road, I do need to mention that I am not a licensed medical professional nor do I play one on this blog. So use this info as you see fit but do not consider it medical advice.
The Proper Way To Poop – Three Steps To A Pleasant Pooping Experience
Before The Poop
If your bowels tend to be a little sluggish (for whatever reason), you might consider using a product that gently and naturally moves things along. There are a lot of options out there and I have tried plenty of them! Some of my go-tos include:
- Magnesium (I use this powder daily)
- Probiotics (This is the best one I have found and I take it daily)
- OxyPowder (when the going gets really tough)
During The Poop
Make sure that you are positioned properly. The human body wants to squat. Sitting is a terrible way to poop but it’s what we are taught to do. Squatting is ideal but not something that is easy to master with today’s common toilet designs. The Squatty Potty helps get you into the ideal pooping position, making it a heck of a lot easier to get things to evacuate the premises.
After The Poop
If you have successfully had an ‘ideal poop,’ there won’t be much evidence left behind on, well, your behind! In fact, a little splash of water is all you need to freshen things up!
A bidet is a fantastic way to get things in tip top shape after a poop. There are all kinds of options…bidet attachments, bidet toilet seats, and stand-alone bidets. All are good options. It just depends on your preference.
I recently had the chance to try out this bidet attachment. I have wanted to try something like this for a while but just didn’t get around to it. Plus, I have to space out all the weird hippy things I try, otherwise Rasta Daddy gets a little cagey.
For a very cost-effective, easy to install toilet sidekick, I’d say that it is a winner. It took about 15 minutes to install and was ready to get to work immediately.
And there you have it! The proper way to poop for a pleasant daily pooping experience! Toodles!

As a professional who healed herself and now works with women who have chronic digestive struggle, I especially appreciate info on simple lifestyle that make the difference. Good nutrition is important, but what we put in our bodies is only part of the picture. How we *use our bodies* is an vital, though commonly overlooked aspect of our overall health – especially digestive health. Good article!
