Central Arizona is hot and dry. Crazy hot, especially now that we are full on into summer. When we moved here, my skin had a rather lengthy adjustment period. It was very dry, my skin was flakey, and no matter how much coconut oil or cocoa/shea butter based body lotion I used, it would soak into my skin in mere seconds. A couple of minutes later, my skin looked like a desert sand dune again.
I figured my body would adapt and I waited patiently. My daughter however wanted to see results N.O.W. or else.
Her solution was to carry around a jar of coconut oil. She literally had her hand in that jar every 15 minutes or so. She would slather on the oil only to have it soak right in, leaving behind ashy skin. Talk about a major frustration, especially for an already prone-to-frustration 6 year old.
My neighbor used to joke that my daughter’s coconut oil was like a security blanket. And in a sense it was. If she set it down and couldn’t remember where she put it, life as we knew it would completely stop until that oil was found!
And then one day, the unthinkable happened.
She dropped the jar. And it broke.
I am pretty sure that the entire world heard her cry of distress. (Because, you know. We couldn’t simply get another jar or anything.)
After that day, my daughter was pretty mad at the concept of a jar of coconut oil. It had betrayed her trust by leaping onto the ground and shattering into “two hundred oh one ninety and fifty sixty five pieces mama.” I had my hands full folks. Just trust me when I say that.
About a week later I had a light bulb moment! My daughter wanted her beloved dry skin relief back, just not in jar form. She carried it everywhere so ideally it would be super portable yet leak proof. Duh! How could I forget about my friends over at Coco Luxe Organic?! Shame on me!
Lest you forget, I RAVED about the concept of coconut oil in a tube last year.
I fell head over heels crazy in love with how portable and mess proof this was for pretty much every use imaginable. On top of that, it is uber sanitary as you aren’t reaching into jar. Sure, you can’t get a 5 gallon sized tube of coconut oil so no, it doesn’t make sense to use this for cooking and baking if you are pinching pennies (although the quality is top-notch). If you travel a lot, like to have some sort of moisturizer on your person or in your purse, or you have a child who obsessively applies coconut oil to her desert adjusting skin, then THIS is your saving grace.
Here is why I truly adore their products and hope that all of you consider supporting Coco Luxe Organic and Coconut Oil In A Tube.
