Giveaway – One Gallon Bucket of Gold Label Coconut Oil AND A Copy Of My Ebook (04/09: US)

Last month I was thrilled to bring you a giveaway from Tropical Traditions.  They generously offered one reader a 32 ounce jar of their Gold Label Coconut Oil.  80 of you entered.  One of you won.  79 of you were pretty sad.

Guess what?  Tropical Traditions, being the stellar company that they are, is offering one of you the chance to win…wait for it… a ONE GALLON BUCKET OF GOLD LABEL COCONUT OIL!  That is worth over $100.  Yes, I am shouting from the rooftops about this.  You have no idea what a great opportunity this is.  Wait – yes you do.

I have already raved about Tropical Traditions.  You know that they are my go-to coconut oil source.  You know that I live and breathe by coconut oil and you know that I pretty much sleep with my bucket of Tropical Traditions coconut oil under my pillow at night.

In case you forgot, here are a few reasons why I am such a fan of Tropical Tradition’s products:

  • They offer one of the highest quality coconut oils available.
  • They have a strong commitment to family farming and organic standards.
  • They stand firmly against genetically modified foods.
  • They research and find out where the products are produced, and how they are produced.  If they do not meet their standards then Tropical Traditions will work with the producers to enhance the quality of their product.
  • They adhere to fair trade practices.
  • Their customer service is fantastic!
  • The founder of the company is ridiculously nice, extremely devoted to his company and customers, and goes out of his way to make personal contact.
  • They carry all kinds of other wonderful products.  You can find me purchasing olive oil, organic raw honey, coconut hair oil, toothpaste, and more.
  • You can order Tropical Traditions in Canada and in Europe!

Today I would like to share a little bit more about Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil.  This information can be found on their Gold Label Coconut Oil Page but I feel that it is important share here as well.

Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil is a truly unrefined coconut oil.  This coconut oil is made on Mt. Banahaw and surrounding areas from organic coconuts.  Coconuts are used fresh (within 24-48 hours of harvest) from small family farms on Mt. Banahaw and other rural places in Quezon Province, the coconut capital of the Philippines.  Only the highest quality coconuts are hand-picked from each harvest.  The volcanic soil of Mt. Banahaw makes these organic coconuts some of the most nutritionally rich coconuts in the world!  Testing done in independent laboratories on coconut oil antioxidants reveals higher levels of phenolic antioxidants than other coconut oils.  The fresh coconut meat is shredded (wet milled), and then cold-pressed using the water from inside the coconuts to make coconut milk.  The milk is then allowed to sit for about half a day, while the oil naturally separates from the heavier water. The oil is then filtered from the curds (coconut solids).  No chemical or high-heat treatment is used, and this oil contains no trans fatty acids.

Tropical Traditions DOES NOT mass produce this oil.  It is made by families who are coconut farmers using old-fashioned traditional methods that have been used in the Philippines for hundreds of years.  Their coconut trees and family producers are certified organic according to strict USDA standards. The families who produce the oil are also trained according to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards and re-certified each year.  This high-grade Virgin Coconut Oil has a long shelf life due to the high antioxidant properties.

Want to learn more?  I think that it is very important for anyone interested in coconut oil to watch this short video: “How We Discovered Virgin Coconut Oil – An Interview with Brian Shilhavy, CEO Tropical Traditions”.  It will really help you understand more about this amazing product.

I have already done 1,2,4,5, and 7. I don’t use twitter so I couldn’t do 3 and 6. For number 9-I’d love to learn to make the eczema cream. My son has a mild case and a family member’s son has an extreme case. I’ve already told her of the benefits of coconut oil but I’d like to also tell her about the cream once I’ve used it!

I’d like to have a book TT sells called “rebuild from depression” , or to try some of their grass fed beef, or something gluten free.

I’d like to know more about coconut oil and how to use it for pre-conception, or how to lose weight.

I do #1,4 and 9….and I am most interested in your 6 misc. recipes in your ebook.

    Lori G.

  7. Siobhan says

We must green our lives, and I appreciate ingredients are affordable and accessible. I had luck with oil pulling, and love the feel of coconut on my skin and the healing effects in my body.
    Thanks for sharing your blog.

Great giveaway! Looking at the TT website, I am most fascinated by the book selection – I’m always looking for more books to help me understand how to have a healthier lifestyle – and why it’s healthier.

  11. says

I do/did or have previously done: 1, 2, 4 (reader), 5, 7, and 9 goes as follows: I am really interested in making my own deodorant right now, and I’m almost to the point where I want to make my own shampoo.

  12. says

I’m still catching up on all of your wonderful posts in the Coconut Health series, and so far you’ve covered everything I’ve needed (coconut oil for sore BF mamas, thank you!) and I can’t wait to try more fab things (personal care products and digestive uses).

  13. says

  14. Marissa W says

I actually have been wanting to try the GOld label coconut oil to compare to the organic unrefined. I’m curious about the coconut cream as well. YUM!

I’d be interested in learning how to make different skin care products and household items – and doing it for minimal cost. I’m moving into a small cabin and don’t have a lot of tools yet I would love to go as sustainable and simple as possible.

  15. says

I am interested in the pet products. I use coconut oil (topically and orally) for my dogs who have allergies and severe dry skin. It works wonders!

I am looking forward to your posts about coconut oil & cancer and coconut oil & candida.

I’m very interested in the ebook recipes for body care products and the PMS blend!

  16. says

I can not think of a single product at Tropical Traditions that I would NOT want. I just wasted a lot of time on that website and everything looks amazing. (Okay, not “wasted”, but I certainly spent more time on there than I had planned to.)

As for topics you could write more about: you have done so much blogging about coconut oil, I already find myself thinking “I never would have thought of that!” all the time. I can’t really think about more that I would cover, except maybe an in-depth post about dread-maintenance with coconut oil (which may be hard to write if you don’t have dreads). I could write a novel about it (if you ever need a guest post on maintaining dreads with coconut oil… hint, hint). :)

I can’t do any additional entries because I have already done them all before. Blurgh.

  17. says

I would love to try the Omega 8003 juicer. There are many other products that I’d be interested in, but that one’s the winner, in my book.
I am really excited to see your post on coconut oil and thyroid issues. I would love to see one on the benefits for breastfeeding mothers.

Seeing as how I am following you all over the place, all that was left was to do numbers 1, 2, and 3. I love all the books they have and would like to get the one entitled “Know Your Fats.”

  19. says

  21. says

OK this is kind of hard to say, but I had a hystermoty about 10 years ago and I was taking hormone replacements, but then my doctor retired and the new doctor immediately took me off the hormone replacement. My problem after that was dryness, I read that coconut oil would help in that area, I have used it every day since that.

  22. says

I entered # 4 today and have been following # 1, 2, 5 &7 for awhile now. Your blog got me started on coconut oil and I have been using Tropical Traditions since then also. I love what the coconut oil has done for me and my family. I tell everyone about it. Thank you so much for the research and time you have done.

Hey Jennifer! How exciting!! Wow, what an awesome giveaway! One winner will be hugely blessed! I did/have already done in the past #1-8. Thanks for all that you do and who you are!

  24. Carrie @ young living oil lady says

I forgot to mention what caught my eye on TT website was their organic chickens. I would be interested in trying them. Books are always great, so the more the merrier- can never have enough books and learning tools! I suppose you sharing about how coconut oil is good for the skin and clears up skin conditions is what I would love for you to write about. Thanks so much for having hte give away!

Have a super day and keep those products going along with the recipes!!

Coconut Oil is a new found love of mine! Since I started using it, I feel so much better, my appetite is under control, and I’ve lost a lot of weight! You could maybe talk about the benefits of CO as a method of portion control seeing as how it gives you a satiated feeling much sooner than a meal laden with carbs and icky stuff like margarine. I have #1,2,3 & 5 done. I would love to try the TT teeth cleaner. I hate SLS especially in tooth paste. I make my own soaps and they are SLS free. My skin has never been happier. Tooth paste is my big pet peeve since SLS is in almost all of them! Pick me pick me!! :)
