It's that time of year again when I start getting that bug to clean everything. We are not snow and cold weather people, so in the winter we stay inside a lot and keep all the windows and doors closed.
When the sun starts shining and the flowers start blooming, it makes me just want to burst into song and throw open all the windows and doors.
The fact that I'm 7 months pregnant right now makes this urge even worse with my prego nesting instinct kicking in. Trust me, the nesting instinct is a real thing!
Last year, we made a New Year resolution to swap out our nasty toxic cleaning supplies for homemade cleaners. I was amazed at how many common household items are such amazing cleaners like vinegar and baking soda.
Before we get to some DIY recipes though, you first need a checklist to make sure you get everything done. It's easy to get overwhelmed with spring cleaning, but remember you don't have to do it all at once. I find it easiest to take one task or room at a time.
So far, I've done my pantry (oh my word that was messy!), and my junk drawer in the kitchen (that was just scary). Make sure you also tell your significant other that you expect it to STAY clean!
I threw a printable checklist together for you that you can download here… you're welcome.

If you're like me, you get sick of Googling a new recipe and trying to find THE ONE that you like. I personally want all my recipes in one spot and readily available when I need them.
My absolute favorite product that I've bought is a recipe eBook from Mommypotamus. She has 50 recipes that are easy to make, no weird ingredients, and they work! Number 2 recipe above is from her eBook if you want to try one out.
Check out the “DIY Non-Toxic Cleaning Cleaning Recipes” eBook from Mommypotamus and get every recipe you need in one place.
Oh and FYI, if you haven't started your essential oil collection, I would check out Butterfly Express (and no I'm not an affiliate or MLMer). My chiropractor recommended them to me because of their purity and efficacy. Plus they are rather inexpensive compared to most other essential oils.
